Welcome to Toni English Photography
I wanted to say thank you for joining me on my journey, as this is officially the first blog post on my website.
Mental health, the side effects of bullying, and the impact of social and systemic injustices are very important themes in my work, as they have had profound impact on who I am as a person and professional. Those challenges don't define me, but they have certainly helped me climb my own mountain and push open a door which I’ve been afraid to walk through or didn’t see possible. This is why social impact is so important to me, because it gives me the privilege and the opportunity to showcase other people’s journeys, tell their stories, and illustrate how they are making an impact in this world - real, positive changes defined by purpose and meaning.
I’ve spent the last few weeks in Oklahoma and wanted to highlight how wonderful a city it is, with ample things to offer.
From the amazing Veronica Spark and Scaling Change; to all the amazing things happening within the Innovation District; the inspiring talks at the Ripple OKC; to Chef Andrew Black's well-earned awards and delicious restaurants; to the innovative models of Not Your Average Joe coffee shop; to breath-taking weather and talented street artists; but most importantly, the deep sense of community and the incredible people within it.
I'd love to hear if anyone else can tell me of hidden gems in Oklahoma, or people making an impact to visit the next time round.
A very inviting city, thank you again for having me.
